I got my first camera at age 4 and have been documenting the world through
photos ever since. Studio space is something I have recently been able to dabble
with as I have learned more about the art of lighting and directing.
My task for this assignment was to infuse a photograph with a specific mood, particularly looking to evoke danger. Through experimentation with gels in the studio, I aimed to capture a powerful portrayal of a woman who exudes both strength and threat.
My project goal was to get comfortable using hair lighting in the studio. The objective was to shoot a silhouette photo and then adjust the lighting to convey the mood of the photo: isolation.
When I travel, I’m drawn to capturing diverse perspectives of the world. Kelti, a dog who joyfully accompanies her human on cross-country adventures. Below Kelti, a group of tourists explore Salzburg, Austria, making their way towards the hike to Hohensalzburg Fortress.
Food is always a challenging thing to photograph as you want your viewers to be overwhelmed with hunger. In these two separate projects I chose to take the overhead perspective to capture these desserts in their most realistic form.
In its purest form, photography freezes moments of sheer beauty in life. Below, we witness
Adde and Noah Terrando basking in the magic of their engagement in Houston, Texas.
